The Import Tracking App follows the import process file by file, from order to customs, from freight to local charges. Costs are allocated to products by rule, so the true unit cost is a record, not an estimate.
What problem does it solve?
When imports are managed in spreadsheets, which file is at which stage, which charge belongs to which lot and the product's true cost only become clear weeks after the file closes.
The application gathers the import file into a single record: order lines, shipment and arrival dates, freight, insurance, customs and local charges. With allocation rules (by amount, quantity, weight and more), unit cost forms on the file and posts correctly into inventory cost.
